    The Good, the Not So Good, and the Downright Ugly. What Contractors need to understand about the programs and how to protect themselves. There are many positive things about CIP’s that help contractors. However, there is a down side if a contractor is not aware of some of the consequences. This program will help contractors achieve the following objectives: 1. Know the ramifications of including / excluding insurance costs in bids both at the front end and back end of a job. 2. Understand what coverages are being provided and equally what is not being provided. 3. Understand the importance of developing a working relationship with the CIP administrator / broker in order to get access to information. 4. Know the person(s) at the broker and/or sponsor levels that is/are responsible for handling the claim in order to have a voice in the claims process.

    Dear New Orleans Chapter Members, The New Orleans Chapter’s Board of Directors has been monitoring local developments and governmental responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. After cancelling a number of Chapter meetings in the spring, the BOD has decided to move forward with virtual meetings through November 2020. Our first virtual meeting will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 2pm as a Chapter Roundtable to discuss best practices operating in the current environment, challenges and opportunities arising in our new environment, and government programs. We hope our members can attend to reconnect in the midst of the pandemic and hear from our Chapter panel about best practices in navigating these unique times. The Chapter will not offer CPE for August’s meeting; however, we plan to offer CPE for the other fall meetings. We will not charge New Orleans Chapter members to attend these sessions and the Chapter will pay fees associated with CPE documentation. The BOD thinks this is a ...
  • Meet our 2020 Scholarship Recipients!

    Since 1999 the Portland Chapter of CFMA has provided scholarships to students wishing to pursue an advanced degree. We are excited to announce our 2020 CFMA Scholarship Recipients! Emily Van Orden graduated from Washougal High School and is working on her Associates of Arts degree from Clark College. In the fall she will begin her Freshman year at the University of Portland and will major in Biology. In addition to her studies, Emily is a summer camp counselor.   Aidan Whitlow graduated from Tigard High School and will be starting his Freshman year at Oregon Institute of Technology and will major in Mechanical Engineering. Aidan is active in robotics and band as well as working at Hunter-Davisson, Inc. during the summers.  Drew Knox is beginning his Sophomore year at Corban University majoring in Accounting.
